:: What is Hormex?
HORMEX ROOTING POWDERS CONTAIN NO HARMFUL PESTICIDES OR FUNGICIDES

Rooting Powders: Our rooting powders have six different strengths to customize the best environment of the finest plant growth hormones for rapidly rooting different varieties of plants. The different strengths work on Ground cover, Roses, Orchids, Shrubs and difficult to propagate evergreens. Hormex will help root soft, semi-woody and extremely difficult to propagate species.

Liquid Concentrate: Our liquid is a vitamin, hormone concentrate and root stimulant. Hormex prevents transplant shock by stimulating the growth of small feeder roots which become damaged during transplanting. Hormex is often used as a pre-planting dip for Cloning plants.

:: Welcome to the Official Home Page for Hormex!!
In 1959, Gary Brooker, son of a landscape architect and horticulturist formulated what is now known as Hormex. As a young organic chemist with horticultural exposure, Gary identified the need for a highly effective growth hormone that would not only promote plant growth but also effectively stop transplanting shock. He also set his sights on an even larger industry requirement…plant propagation.

After much research, he found commercial rooting compounds did not root cuttings fast enough or with consistency. He set out to meet this challenge and developed Hormex Rooting Powders. The company started as a small venture to fulfill the needs of nurseries and plant enthusiasts who were not experiencing satisfactory plant growth and ropagation. They were losing plants due to root shock and needed to improve their propagation yield and consistency.

As a young boy, I, Steven Brooker and my brother Gary started production in our garage while using our Ford Falcon station wagon for deliveries. Gary, obviously, developed the perfect formulas which lead to more orders than we could be fill from our small operation. Starting with strengths 1, 3, 8 and 16 we later added strengths 30 and 45 for consistent fast propagation of very difficult to propagate hardwood cuttings. The rest is history.

You will find Hormex Rooting Powders and Liquid Concentrate in greenhouses of the world’s finest plant propagators.
